The City of Folsom has a full range of household hazardous waste (HHW) programs designed to make it easy for you to properly dispose of HHW or, even better, not produce HHW in the first place. We hope that our website will make it easier to safely dispose of or avoid hazardous materials in your homes. The City has two types of HHW disposal programs. The first program recycles most of the common recyclable HHW (such as motor oil, paint, TV sets) through individual appointments. Appointments are available for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Materials for weekly recyclable HHW pickup program

The second program collects the more difficult-to-handle HHW such as pesticides, corrosive cleaners and pool chemicals with monthly pickups. In addition to HHW disposal, your Hazardous Materials Division provides hazardous materials cleanup services on public property, services to reduce the number of hypodermic needles in the waste stream (see Sharps Program) and a program to reduce the discharge of motor oil from boat bilges into Folsom Lake (see Clean Boating).
